甚麼是脫牙、剝牙

「脫牙」與「剝牙」都指拔牙（Dental Extraction），即將牙齒從牙槽骨中移除的過程，不過用法略有不同：一般日常語言中「脫牙」多用來形容牙齒自然鬆脫或簡單拔除，而「剝牙」則是牙科專業常用的正式術語，尤其在需要手術方式拔除的情況下，例如阻生智齒。雖然兩者在口語上常互換，但牙科診所通常以「剝牙」或「拔牙」作正式稱呼。

The dentist will first take a look at the patient's medical history, including past dental treatments, allergies, and current health status. Next, an oral examination will be conducted to assess the teeth, gums, and overall oral health to determine if extraction is necessary. Finally, an X-ray will usually be scheduled to clearly show the condition of the tooth root and surrounding bone, and to assess the difficulty and risks of the extraction.

Local anesthesia is the most common form of anesthesia during tooth extraction. The dentist will apply anesthetic to the extraction site so that the patient is awake and does not feel pain. In some special cases, such as when multiple teeth need to be extracted at the same time or when the patient has special needs, general anesthesia may be used to put the patient into a sleep state throughout the treatment to reduce discomfort.

If the tooth is fully exposed, the dentist will gently pull it out using special dental forceps, which is a simple extraction. Toothache may be a symptom of dental problems, and tooth extraction may be an effective way to resolve the pain. When other preservative treatments are not possible, tooth extraction can provide rapid pain relief.

Is the pain after tooth extraction very intense? What methods can be used to relieve it?

How long is considered normal to experience bleeding after a tooth extraction?

A small amount of bleeding within 24 hours is normal. If there is continuous heavy bleeding, you should contact your dentist immediately.

Do I need a filling after a tooth extraction?
