Oral examination

口腔檢查是牙醫評估口腔健康的全面檢查，目的是及早發現蛀牙、牙周病、口腔黏膜病變、咬合問題及其他口腔疾病，並據此擬定治療或預防計劃。檢查通常包括：視診與觸診檢查牙齦、牙齒與口腔黏膜；使用探針測量牙周袋深度與評估牙齦出血；檢查牙齒有無蛀洞、裂紋或填補物問題；拍攝 X 光（如需要）以評估牙根、牙槽骨與隱藏病變；以及評估咬合與顳顎關節狀況。牙醫會根據檢查結果提供口腔衛生指導、清潔或進一步治療建議（例如洗牙、根管治療、拔牙或牙周治療）。

為甚麼要定期做口腔檢查？

  • Early detection of problems定期的口腔檢查能夠及早發現蛀牙、牙周病等問題，及時治療可以避免更嚴重的問題。

X光或CBCT檢查

影像檢查（視需要選擇）：若需檢視整體牙列、牙根與牙槽骨，會安排 2D 全口 X 光片 OPG；針對單顆或局部疑難牙位做放大檢查則採用 局部 X 光片 PA；在術前植牙、評估骨量或處理複雜病變時，會使用 3D 立體電腦斷層掃描 CBCT 以取得精準三維影像並協助治療規劃。

口腔檢查前後護理須知

  • 檢查前：如實告知病史與藥物告訴牙醫你的全身病史（如心臟病、糖尿病、懷孕、抗凝血藥或免疫抑制藥物），並帶上現有藥物清單或藥物包裝，以利醫師評估風險與是否需調整用藥。
  • examine前：保持口腔清潔但避免刺激檢查前可正常刷牙、使用牙線，但若有口腔疼痛或活動性出血，事先告知；若需拍 X 光或進行侵入性檢查，依醫囑暫停進食或配合其他準備。
  • 檢查後：控制出血與不適若進行拔牙或深層清潔，術後當天避免劇烈漱口、吸菸或用吸管，必要時咬紗布止血並冰敷減腫；按醫師指示服用止痛藥或抗生素，若出血大量或持續不止應立即回診。
  • 檢查後：口腔衛生維持根據檢查結果安排回診或專業清潔（如每 3–6 個月），建立每日刷牙、牙線或沖牙機等輔助清潔習慣，並留意發燒、劇痛、持續腫脹或異常分泌物等警訊，及早就醫可提高治療成功率。

How often should I have a dental checkup?

It is generally recommended that adults have a dental checkup every six months to a year. This allows for the early detection and treatment of oral problems. Some elderly people often need to take various medications, some of which may have negative effects on oral health, such as causing dry mouth and mouth ulcers. Therefore, more frequent dental checkups and cleanings are necessary.
